About Studenterhuset
We are the place where students from all educational institutes can gather, and we are open to everyone.
We are much more than just a café and bar. We are a whole house full of activities for students and by students with lots of events and workshops that you can help contribute to. Either by your mere presence or by being a co-organizer.
You help create the life in the house.
Studenterhuset is part of the byStudents association. byStudents works for community, engagement and student city life in Copenhagen. byStudents is behind a lot of exciting initiatives for students throughout Copenhagen.

Become a member
Studenterhuset is an independent association under the University of Copenhagen, which means that all students at UCPH are automatically members of Studenterhuset and all you need to do is show your KU-ID at the bar.
All students at other higher education institutions can become members of Studenterhuset simply by doing the following:
- Download the Orbi app
- Choose your membership (1 or 2 semesters)
- Buy membership through the app
- Show membership and get 25% off in our café
As a student at the University of Copenhagen, you are automatically a member of Studenterhuset and receive a 25% student discount on our already student-friendly prices for drinks, snacks, and other items in the café. You just need to show your KU ID at the bar.
If you are a student at another higher education institution, you can become a member and enjoy the same benefits as KU students.

As a student, you are welcome to bring your own packed lunch or snacks, as long as you clean up after yourself.
Of course, you can also buy a toast, croissant, or cookie in the café. And – almost – every Wednesday we have a community kitchen for students for only DKK 35. Read more HERE.
You can buy drinks at advantageous prices in the café. We offer a wide selection of coffee, tea, beer, wine, soft drinks, and more.
You can always use our café as a study space, and if you need a bit more quiet, you or your study group are welcome to use our reading area in the reading room on the first floor above the café via the spiral staircase in the café.
We are open – almost – every day throughout the year except during the summer and christmas holidays.

Do you want to host an event for other students? Borrow a room for free at Studenterhuset! Follow the example of the Knitting Club, KU Green Screen, Language Cafe, and many more. Our rooms can be used for, among other things:
- Talks, debates, and workshops
- Quizzes, movie nights, writing workshop
- Open meetings in your association/community

We organize and facilitate interdisciplinary initiatives and projects that support communities – often in collaboration with exciting organizations and partners, where you can test methods and specific skills you develop in your studies.
Use your expertise for workshops and courses:

- Meet professionals who work in your field on a daily basis
- Get inspired: find out what you can do contributes meaningfully

Become a volunteer.
Become part of the community
Every semester, more than 150 volunteers help run the house in the café, behind the bar, at events, booking artists, and in our community kitchen.
As a volunteer, you become part of a unique community and contribute to creating a more diverse student life in Copenhagen. All of this with Studenterhuset in the city center as your second living room.

At byStudents, it is the volunteers who play the absolutely biggest role. Our many volunteers help create our inclusive and safe culture, organize exciting events around the city, and fill the Studenterhuset with life and a great atmosphere.
