The students\u2019 house for activities, parties and ideas<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Studenterhuset is placed in central Copenhagen \u2013 right next to Rundet\u00e5rn. We are the place where ALL students from all schools\/study can meet and especially a meeting point for students across the many subjects and faculties at the University of Copenhagen.<\/p>\n

The house is run by students, alongside a small group of paid staff; together we create an amazing atmosphere, debates, concerts, events and all kinds of activities. If you want to participate in one of the activities, or have a good idea for a new one, please don\u2019t hesitate to get in touch.<\/p>\n

Studenterhuset is part of the association byStudents. byStudents aim to strengthen community, engagement og city life for all students in Copenhagen – for example we offer accommodation \/ dormitory through our project Startup Housing<\/strong><\/a><\/span> in the beginning of each semester. Cheap coffee and great atmosphere<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As a student at UCPH you\u2019re automatically a member of Studenterhuset, and get extra discounts on beverages, snacks and entry fees to the house. If you\u2019re studying at another institution of higher learning, you can sign up as a member and get the same benefits as the UCPH students.<\/p>\n

At Studenterhuset the social environment is crucial; from we open the doors in the morning until we close at night there are plenty of opportunities to meet up in study groups, hang out with friends and join the activities you want to. We have a bunch of regular activities every week, and our calendar is filled with concerts and events. So stop by.<\/p>\n

We also do activities outside K\u00f8bmagergade. We organize events and parties around the city, have a volunteer run bike repair shop at Frederiksberg and organize the University of Copenhagen\u2019s annual KU Festival<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

An international student city<\/strong><\/h2>\n

There are a lot of international students in Copenhagen, and in Studenterhuset we make sure, that almost all of our activities are accessible to them as well.<\/p>\n

The largest part of our activities and events are in English, and we offer mentor activites and other events, that give the international students a great intro to and understanding of Copenhagen as a student city. So expect us to speak English, when you sign up as a volunteer.<\/p>\n

We are also the editor of International Student\u2019s Survival Guide<\/strong><\/a> (ISSG) is international students\u2019 guide to Denmark. The guide is written by byStudents based on international students\u2019 experiences in Denmark and with contributions from educational institutions and unions.<\/p>\n

For the students by the students \u2013 via volunteering<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We are typically 200 volunteers from around 40 nationalities at Studenterhuset. Moreover we\u2019re a small secretariat, who handles the economy, supplies and practical issues, supports the various activities etc. There is always a paid staff member present in the house, to make sure that all volunteers and guests are well, and to make sure we adher to the rules about out alcohol licence, noise levels etc.<\/p>\n

Studenterhuset is an independent organisation (forening) affiliated with the University of Copenhagen. A volunteer board consisting of students directs the house. It is our task to develop and organize activities for the students by the students. We do that for instance by Studenterhusets Problemknusere (Studenterhuset\u2019s troubleshooters), a sort of volunteer academy that creates educational courses about how to start up great volunteer projects at the university. We also have an annual idea-day, where the entire house meet up and develop ideas for new activities for and by students.<\/p>\n
